This article discusses the criticism received by Representative James Moran of Virginia for stating that the Jewish community is supporting the proposed Iraq war in 2003. According to Moran, the war will not be pursued if not for the strong support of the Jewish community. The House and Senate Democratic leaders, Nancy Pelosi and Tom Daschle, have denounced his remarks. Six Jewish House Democrats advised Moran not seek re-election in 2004. One reason Moran is getting criticized is that Jewish people are not comfortable with the point he raised.
