This article presents information on three books, namely: Gender at the Crossroads of Knowledge: Feminist Anthropology in the Postmodern Era," edited by Micaela di Leonardo; "The Sphinx in the City: Urban Life, the Control of Disorder, and Women," by Elizabeth Wilson; and "Dreaming Identities: Class, Gender and Generation in 1980's Hollywood Film," by Elizabeth Traube. It is informed that the contributors to Micaela di Leonardo's somewhat awkwardly titled Gender at the Crossroads of Knowledge provide insight into the worldwide variety of gender relations while taking a self-reflective view. Much current feminist writing remains concerned with literary texts, theory and women's history.
