It is informed that on September 21, 1993, Boris Yeltsin addressing the Russians on television announced the dissolution of the present Supreme Soviet and Congress of People's Deputies and announced elections for an entirely new parliament for December 11 and 12, 1993. The fight between President and Parliament is not new. It is opined that two months after the August putsch, with galloping inflation, slumping production, rising crime and a serious threat of national collapse, Russia is obviously on the brink.
