The article focuses on various political issues. Ralph Nader, Pat Buchanan, Ross Perot and the A.F.L.-C.I.O. versus Bill Clinton, Bob Dole, Henry Kissinger and the Chamber of Commerce, with Pat Robertson planting a self-righteous foot in each camp. Every journalist has a woeful tale about the hot story that deserved widespread attention and got nothing. Author's best entry in this category is the disclosure that American hero Colin Powell lied to Iran/contra investigators about his knowledge of Caspar Weinberger's diaries.
