The article presents information on various political developments. According to the author the only who can truly claim some credit for the victory of Bill Clinton in the U.S. Presidential elections, is Representative Henry Gonzalez. Gonzalez brought the scandal involving the Italian-owned bank Banca Nazionale del Lavoro SpA (BNL) to the public attention. The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) withheld vital intelligence on BNL from the U.S. Justice Department for two years. The branch of the bank in Atlanta, Georgia, which is the source of billion of dollars in illegal loans to Iraq, is at the center of controversy.
