The article presents information on the misconduct in office by public officers in the U.S. In 1988, Elizabeth Fediay, a 34-year-old conservative activist, directed the National Security Political Action Committee. Targeting military pensioners under the guise of Americans for Bush, the PAC amassed more than $7 million to spend on behalf of the U.S. Republican candidate. In 1990 the F.E.C ruled that Fediay's PAC violated federal law by not attaching a disclaimer to its Americans for George Bush entreaties. The group was slapped with a $6,000 fine. Edward Teller, dubbed the father of the hydrogen bomb is also godfather to the multibillion dollar boondoggle known as Star Wars. His pet project was the nuclear-powered X-ray laser.
