This article discusses the political developments in the United States. Some observers think the Democrats should return to their liberal roots. For example, Congressman Barney Frank wants his fellow Democrats to make their rhetoric more persuasive as it concerns self-reliance, patriotism and crime in his study of the politics of the past thirty years, argues that liberals should admit that welfare causes dependency and concentrate now on providing jobs and rewarding work. Perhaps the Democrats won't do what opportunistically as well as morally they should because they are so compromised by big money. One specialist in political parties makes a startlingly persuasive case that the Democrats should fundamentally change their geographical strategy.
