This article focuses on various theatrical productions and their creators. Some of the plays, considered here, are: "The Baltimore Waltz," by Paula Vogel; "A Woman Without a Name," "Mary Stuart," "The Most Happy Fella," by Anna Bogart. In the theater, however, the principal characters with AIDS have been gay, usually in plays taking the form of case histories or dramas about those who are left to mourn. The article further reports that the Signature Theater Company, which is housed in the Kampo Cultural Center, a little temple of gentrification on Bond Street just off the Bowery, has the declared object of devoting a full season each year to the work of a single playwright in residence.
