The article focuses on sheik Mohammed al-Fassi. He was considered a demented millionaire who painted the genitalia on his front-yard statuary in Beverly Hills and converted a Miami mansion into a refuge for stray cats. Even his family and some associates on the payroll agree that Mohammed was an immature, spoiled brat. But more recently he has become concerned with religious and political affairs in Saudi Arabia. During the Persian Gulf crisis he brought a planeload of powdered milk to Baghdad. He also called for reforms and democracy in Saudi Arabia. However, current scenario is marked by unacknowledged detention of Mohammed al-Fassi by Saudi Arabia.
