The article discusses the political scenario in Palestine. The peace process between Palestine and Israel is leading to nowhere. Israel gives a no to Palestine Liberation Organization, no to Palestinian statehood, no to self-determination and no to Palestinian refugee's right to return. The price of peace in the region will be the surrender of 90 percent of land to Israel, and Palestine's acceptance of it. Palestine's leader Yasir Arafat is under pressure from Saudi Arabia, from the U.S. and Europe. He is very pragmatic but sees no alternative. When asked if he did not think the Palestinians had gained morally from the graceful performance of their delegates, Arafat said that to be honest, the Palestinian participation had only been useful for informing world opinion.
