The article focuses on the book entitled "Saddam Hussein and the Crisis in the Gulf," by Judith Miller and Laurie Mylroie. The book has been written in just three weeks and was soon published . The strong criticism the authors of the book level at the policy the U.S. followed toward Iraq before August 2, 1990, is the high point of the book. The book describes Iraqi President Saddam's purges of his Baath Party and the armed forces, his omnipresent internal security agencies and his pervasive cult of personality.
