The article reports that the U.S. government is sending counter-revolutionaries back into Nicaragua with the double mission of terrorizing the Sandinistas and spreading the propaganda for its handpicked candidate, Violeta Chamorro. Chamorro and her National Opposition Union make up the patchwork coalition cobbled together by U.S. advisers and fueled by millions of U.S. dollars administered by the National Endowment for Democracy. With voting in Nicaragua scheduled for February 25, 1990 nine separate parties are vying for the presidency, 103 National Assembly seats, control of municipal councils and special posts in the South Atlantic Autonomous Region.
