The article focuses on how European nations perceive the United States and its foreign policies. The author pointed out that Europe is increasingly becoming anti-American. The newspaper "Le Monde," from France has described the Middle East policies of U.S. President George W. Bush as extraordinary, unjust and arrogant, while the British newspaper "Mirror," announced that the United States has become the world's leading rogue state. The 2002 State of the Union address of President Bush, which cited the formulation of a so-called Axis of Evil against which all civilized nations must ally themselves, was heavily criticized by European governments.
