The article focuses on various social and political activities of Jesse Jackson of the U.S. Since he sought the Democratic presidential nomination, he has barely missed a day on public view or a chance for extending his sway. It is observed that the national media no longer see the Jackson story that was so dazzling in 1988, but the locals still love him. It is hardly a secret that he would like a shot at the District of Columbia mayoralty, which comes up next year. Jackson has certainly not ruled out another presidential bid, although some advisers argue contrary to that. Meanwhile, Jackson continues to advance the causes of the several constituencies of the Rainbow Coalition.
