Charlie Wilson, the East Texas Representative and hero of Afghanistan, came up with a scheme to save Speaker Jim Wright from the nasty schemers who hauled him before the House Ethics Committee. Wilson suggests that no one should be allowed to serve on the House Ethics Committee who has not himself been investigated. He claims this would cut down on the hypocrisy and the sanctimony, would produce a committee of people who understand how much lawyers cost. Wilson was himself on the Ethics Committee until it had to investigate him: He claims he got the seat by observing to Mo Udall, as he studied the list of the members. They're not representative of the Democratic Caucus."
