This article presents information about the Lenore Marshall Prize for poetry. The Lenore Marshall/Nation Poetry Prize of $10,000 is awarded annually for the most outstanding book of poems published in the United States by an American. The article presents a list of the names of the previous winners. This year the prize has been awarded to Josephine Jacobsen for her book "The Sisters: New and Selected Poems." The choice for the prize comes from "The Bench Press," a small publishing house in Columbia, South Carolina. It is scrupulously edited, splendidly produced, and is the life work of one of the country's finest poets.
