The article offers information on the Future of Music Coalition (FMC), a non-profit organization in the music industry. FMC was established in June 2000 to focus on the problems related to manufacturing, distributing and promoting music and advocating business models, technologies and policies for musicians and citizens. It has been working for the documentation of hindrances in the development of musicians and music in the U.S. Its previous projects include an analysis of the radio deregulation and its effects on musicians and citizens in association with the 1996 Telecommunications Act.
