The article talks about the manner of apologizing. It stresses that people have the tradition of apologizing quickly, easily and showing with remorse. The author refers to the policies of U.S. President George W. Bush on the Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, the liberals who supported the nomination of Michael McConnell to the federal government and the abandonment of the Bob Jones University in South Carolina of its anti-miscegenist stance for the sake of Bush. He also comments on the election of Trent Lott on the majority leader position in the U.S. Senate.
