The author discusses the general strikes of the Venezuelan people against their President Hugo Chávez. He reports on the efforts of the television channels and broadcasting networks regarding the strikes, including the plea of baseball player Andres Gallaraga for peace and the possibility of the country to face a civil war. The U.S. and Spain are supporting the opposition and the public general strikes against Chávez.
