The article discusses issues faced by notable people in the U.S. Diplomat Henry Kissinger has decided to retreat from public life after failing to disclose the facts of the deals he does with foreign governments for corporate clients while Cardinal Bernard Law resigned after getting involved in a child sexual abuse scandal. The article states that the truth may be slow, but it is not impotent. It asserts that what was tolerated or excused in public figures in the past is now intolerable and effectively forbidden.
