The authors encourage the creation of economically democratic forms of locally-owned business enterprises. They assert that the corporate personhood imbued in the corporate charter and granted by the state should be eliminated. Corporations should be made to abide by the ethical norms of corporate responsibility and transparency. Suggestions from New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer regarding corporations are presented.
