The article focuses on political developments in the U.S. Political leader Ross Perot launched Reform Party. Perot's running mate, Pat Choate, boldly declared that the party would spend $2 million to run candidates against vulnerable House Republicans to punish them for supporting fast track trade deals and stalling on campaign finance reform. Choate vowed the Reform Party would mobilize the same swing voters who contributed to the 1994 Republican Congressional avalanche, this time to benefit Congressional Democrats. Of the twenty-two Reformers running for House seats, only three are challenging marginal Republicans.
