The article presents an open letter sent by Katha Pollitt to an ex-contrarian named Christopher. Pollitt discusses several ideas why the columnist left the column called "Minority Report." Pollitt comments on the current style of debate used by Christopher in criticizing the war in Iraq. Pollitt highlights several appearances made by Christopher on various media to offer his view on the war in Iraq. Pollitt also states that Christopher may have spent years as a man of the left in the U.S., but he may not really knew the American left.
