The article presents a letter sent by children's book author Jules Feiffer to U.S. First Lady Laura Bush in which he expresses his reasons for declining her invitation to a breakfast during the National Book Festival. Feiffer expressed his opposition to the military policies and use of language by the administration of U.S. President George W. Bush. He claimed that the administration uses language to obscure its intentions rather than clarify them.
