The article focuses on the war plans of the U.S. for Iraq. After much discussions over tactics, the U.S. has settled on the basic plan for the invasion of Iraq. The White House has selected the more daring and innovative approach which will employ a small contingent of ground troops backed up by air power and precision-guided munitions over the Desert-like tactic which involves mostly combat troops. The following are the reasons behind the selection of the unconventional approach. First, it entails fewer troop deployments and allows for an earlier assault. Second, it solves the problems regarding the use of friendly Arab territories. The approach would short-circuit the diplomatic process at the United Nations. The plan would allow strategists to test unconventional techniques.
