The article comments on the impact of the U.S. military policy in Iraq on the economy. The Iraqi war makes the economy sicker. The recession is becoming a prolonged stagnation. Employment and incomes are down while poverty and long-term unemployment are up. Drug prices are soaring. Investment and jobs decline. Public spending are being cut in the face of decreasing revenue. The nation is suffering from trade deficits. The confidence of consumers and investors is falling. The economy is faltering.
