The article focuses on the hijackers the author has met. Herminio da Palma Inácio, a Portuguese resistance leader in the 1960s, boarded a plane in Casablanca, Morocco, and rerouted it to Lisbon, Portugal where he dropped leaflets calling for a free election. William Lee Brent, who was involved in revolutionary politics in the Bay Area in the 1960s, hijacked a plane from Oakland to Cuba, where he wrote the book "Long Time Gone." Abu Nidal, Iraq's nominee as leader of the Palestinian struggle in 1975, have ordered the death of Said Hammami, the Palestinian Liberation Organization envoy in London, England.
