The article presents the views of several Jewish members of the media on the claims made by evangelist Billy Graham about a need to break up the Jewish media monopoly in the U.S. The anti-Semitic views of Graham were revealed during a conversation with former U.S. President Richard Nixon in 1972, based on tapes released by the White House. Most of the respondents did not believe that a Jewish news media monopoly existed. Some perceived Graham as a hypocrite. The large number of Jewish writers and editors, as well as Jewish ownership of two influential newspapers, led to a greater public perception of Jewish presence in the news media than there actually was.
