The article discusses the problems faced by union members who work for Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in the U.S. The retailer uses various excuses to fire union supporters. The United Food and Commercial Workers union and the Teamsters are collaborating to prevent Wal-Mart from taking advantage of their members. According to "The Economist," the chain accounts for 60% of retail sales in the country. The strategy of Wal-Mart involves entering rural markets first before moving into larger metropolitan areas. It also tries to prevent contact between workers and their union.
