The article discusses the implications of the globalization of clinical research for the pharmaceutical industry. Globalization of clinical research would solve the pharmaceutical paradox that while an average U.S. citizen brings home more than ten prescriptions a year, just one in 350 is willing for new drug testing. The efforts of pharmaceutical companies to test first world drugs on unsuspecting third world patients re addressed. The regulations planned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to address the issue are also discussed.
