The article presents information on two books, "The Key to My Neighbor's House: Seeking Justice in Bosnia and Rwanda," by Elizabeth Neuffer and "The Memory of Judgment: Making Law and History in the Trials of the Holocaust," by Lawrence Douglas. Neuffer devotes the first half of her book to the 1990s conflicts in the Balkans and Rwanda, interspersing stories of survivors with historical and political analysis and intermittent on-the-scenes reporting of the Holocaust. Douglas, takes a more analytic approach than Neuffer's, examining in often painstaking detail the legal charges and evidence introduced to support them.
