The article deals with the racial discrimination which is rampant in the U.S. An African American girl mentioned a case where a White boy was waving a copy of "Nigger," a new book by law professor, Randall Kennedy, with a mean-looking face. She told that she has a copy of "Stupid White Men," to wave to the boy. Then the article takes up a serious issue and suggests that people are more interested in hurting others. People speak not just freely but wantonly and thoughtlessly. The flight from the imagined horrors of political correctness seems to have overtaken common sense so much so that hate speech has become common sense.
