This article presents information on the book "The Skeptical Environmentalists: Measuring the Real State of the World," by Bjorn Lomborg. Preposterous as it sounds, that's the message that Lomborg presents in this book. The book received rave reviews in the newspapers the "Wall Street Journal," the "Washington Post," and elsewhere, and it looks as if the U.S. government has torn a few pages from it. Lomborg plausibly points out that the environmental litany of short-run crisis and impending doom is unrealistic, and sometimes based on statistical misunderstandings.
