WHAT ARE THEY HIDING?

Conservative House Republican Dan Burton from Indiana is outraged with U.S. President George W. Bush's administration for its obsession with secrecy, with keeping information on a broad range of fronts out of public view. As more and more connections between members of the Bush Administration and Enron Corp. come to light, the press and the public have started believing that a lot is being hidden from them by the administration. Bush is blocking the scheduled release of documents under the Presidential Records Act of 1978, which mandates that all but the most highly sensitive documents are to be made public twelve years after a President leaves office. On December 14, Bush invoked executive privilege in refusing to comply with a couple of subpoenas from Burton's panel.
