The article focuses on the Senator Paul Wellstone, Minnesota. He is struggling to articulate his vision for a progressive political revival. In mid-April, Wellstone, the former college professor and grassroots community organizer, announced he is forming an exploratory committee to help him decide whether to mount a presidential campaign and to fund his political trips to Iowa, New Hampshire and other early primary states. Wellstone says he won in Minnesota by building a great grassroots organization, campaigning in areas with traditionally low voter turnout and aggressively championing economic populism.
