The article focuses on issues related to terrorist crimes in the U.S. The reference is to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Those who committed this unbearably cruel act, killed themselves while committing the crime, and they are now all dead. The author holds that none of these men could possibly have planned this crime themselves. These people are the ones for whom the mechanism's current way of working, or the status quo, offers a life of anguish and servitude. These millions of people are in many cases uneducated and yet they still somehow know that you have played an enormous role in keeping this status quo in place.
