In this article the author comments on the politics of New York City current in late 2009. The central focus of the article is the performance of the Democratic Party in the city in light of the poor economic picture and the November mayoral election. The author is of the opinion that the Democratic contender for mayor, Bill Thompson, should be on the attack against the incumbent Michael Bloomberg for his support for the financial services industry.
