Battle for Honduras--and the Region

The article examines the political state of Honduras with reference to the politics of Central and Latin America. At issue is a June 28, 2009 military coup engineered by Roberto Micheletti that overthrew Manuel Zelaya, the democratically elected president. The central focus of the article is the author's contention that the coup benefits those who would seek to stop the advance of the left wing in the region.
