The article focuses on the sexual liberation fight in France that leads to schism between liberationalists and assimilationists. The epicenter of the French gay movements lies in Front Homosexual d'Action Révolutionnaire (FHAR). The youthful activists who formed the FHAR had their political coming-of-age in the turbulent student-left rebellion that turned into a nationwide general strike in all walks of life, a gigantic outpouring of social protest against the suffocating atmosphere of France. The FAHR's general meetings grew rapidly from people involved marked a momentous time in the history of the evolution of mores in France.
