The author of the article considers how U.S. Republican Party vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin matches up with presidential candidate John McCain, who, according to the author, began searching for a new beauty queen companion after wife Cindy McCain tired of campaigning. The author compares McCain's search for Palin to Esther's situation in the Old Testament Bible's Book of Esther. The author credits Palin for her shrewd grasp of U.S. politics.
