The author of the article discusses the U.S. Democratic and U.S. Republican Party National Conventions, considering the prominent issues that were emphasized at each, multiculturalism and the U.S. economy for the Democrats and the conservative issues espoused by U.S. vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin for the Republicans. In her acceptance speech, Palin pledged to uphold family values issues such as anti-abortion and the right to bear arms.
