This article comments on the rising popularity of MSNBC television network's political commentator Rachel Maddow. Maddow's rise in status during the 2008 election year has turned her into a regular presence on MSNBC, and she may receive her own television show. She is one of few left-liberal women to be successful in the television arena. An overview of Maddow's background and career development is also provided.
