This article presents an interview of musician Coleman Ornette. For sixty years, Ornette Coleman has been making waves in life and in music with his idea of harmolodics. For him, life and art are not separate. This, at least, is one thing he shares with some of his famous friends. But now Coleman is on an outdoor stage at Battery Park, a June event costing the faithful up to $65 per for folding chairs under the sky, not far from the Staten Island Ferry terminals. He has used a new septet called the Global Expression project. It combines his son Denardo on drums and bassist Charnett Moffett with four world-music types, including longtime associate Badal Roy on tablas.
