The article reports on the direction taken by members of the U.S. mainstream media such as U.S. White House spokesperson Scott McClellan who wrote the book "What Happened" about how major members of U.S. President George W. Bush's administration misled the world about the Iran war. ABC Television Networks news anchor Charles Gibson stated that the news media should just ask questions. The author states that the media could have debated leader Colin Powell's speech defending the Iraq war.
