The article discusses the announcement from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency to expand its recruiting to military installations overseas. Recruiters urged American soldiers at the Kaiserlauten Military Community in Germany to consider a career as a border guard after leaving the military. The agency, which refers to the military as a "fertile source for applicants," has more than 48,000 employees with one-quarter of that number consisting of veterans.
