Hawai'i Needs You

The article presents an editorial which implores U.S. liberals to support the Hawaiian independence movement. The authors claim that the U.S. government treats the annexed Hawaii in an imperialist manner, using much of the islands' land for military bases. The economy of Hawaii is discussed. The U.S. Congress considers a Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act, which the authors claim will remove the possibility of independence.
