The authors offer opinions on the U.S. health care policies proposed by presidential candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton. Both proposals are seen as too timid to create the changes needed for real reform. Both plans are said to be too dependent on the private insurance companies which dominate the finances of the current system. Nor does either plan contain realistic means of cost control.
