The article reports that in Maryland, progressive activist Donna Edwards beat U.S. Congressman Al Wynn in a Democratic primary with the backing of the Service Employees International Union, the Sierra Club, and the Progressive Democrats of America. Wynn voted to authorize the Iraq war, and backed corporations that wanted to kill environmental programs.
