The article presents information on the book "The Right Women: A Journey Through the Heart of Conservative America," by Elinor Burkett. This is a book about feminism and politics in the U.S. Burkett, the pushy Jewish feminist, is so enamored of the women she meets that she rarely questions, much less actually engages, her subjects. Burkett insists that the feminist-bashing that permeates her book is, in fact, an incontrovertible manifestation of feminism's triumph. In Burkett's paradigm, personal agency has been severed from its social consequences. The personal act of asserting oneself as an individual is the only and exclusive, vessel of meaning.
