The article looks at the Sixth World Social Forum that met in Caracas, Venezuela in January 2005. The author explores the decision for Venezuela to host the forum, the poor organization and limitations of the forum, and the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA) trade pact. Venezuela President Hugo Chávez spoke about United States Imperialism, presented harsh rhetoric against U.S. President George W. Bush, and promoted socialism.
